We take the church outside the building.
Four times a year our iCare team sets up in a neighborhood laundromat and covers the cost of a load for whoever walks in. It is called Laundry Love.
Clean clothes, and an hour of somebody's attention.
Our team shows up at Homestyle Laundry with a table, a banner, and quarters. We pay for people's laundry. We hand out detergent. We put out snacks and drinks, and then we stay.
That last part is the actual point. A wash and dry cycle is about an hour, and nobody has anywhere to be while it runs. So we sit down. We learn names. We hear what is going on in somebody's week, and sometimes we pray with them right there next to the dryers.
Nobody has to fill out a form. Nobody gets a sales pitch. If you walk in with a basket, your laundry is covered.
We do not cap it at a number. We serve as many families as we can until the time is up or the money runs out. Some quarters that reaches further than others, and that is exactly why the supplies and the giving matter.

iCare is our outreach ministry. It exists to make sure the words we say on Sunday actually show up somewhere on a Tuesday. Laundry Love is the clearest picture of it. The team buys the supplies, sets up, and spends the afternoon with whoever is there.
You do not need a title, a testimony, or any experience to help. If you can make change, carry a bag of detergent, or hold a conversation with a stranger, there is a spot for you.

This is not a one time event.
Laundry Love happens four times a year, and it will keep happening. The people who come back a second and third time start to recognize us, and we start to recognize them. That is when it stops being outreach and starts being relationship.
